This quick studies are a celebration of the assertiveness of unfinished initial sketches, where there is no room for correction or lengthy deliberation – the thought is directly translated into lines that intersect, forming an intricate web of visceral concepts breathed by the soul. It is a celebration of the complexity of the psyche within the simplicity of a sketch that fits in the palm of the hand. The artist uses these small sketches to contemplate life, integrating and assimilating complex emotions in the mind and heart. These studies are spontaneous manifestations of an initial idea, representing the pulse of the first lines of works that will develop into larger and more complex paintings.
